Candidates Address Anonymous Letters At the June meeting of the Evans Democratic Club, Town candidates Fran Pordum, Paul Cooper and Tom Partridge addressed misinformation being spread around Town. Cooper described that "people in Town have told me about an unsigned letter circulated about a group home for violent criminals. However, the information provided to me has indicated that the home will be a residence for developmentally disabled people. These anonymous letters sound like the same old attempts to mislead Town residents." "There's nothing the Town can do to prevent people from sending anonymous misinformation," noted Partridge. "Let's make this campaign about the positive things in this Town." Town Supervisor candidate Pordum outlined that "I want all the people in Town to know that they have a voice in government. We are going to run an open government and work to move this community forward. We must channel all our efforts into making Evans a better place to live. When people stick to the facts and work toward positive goals, the truth will filter through. When we work together, there's no need for anonymous letters." Save the date: the Town Club's annual picnic is on Sunday, August 5th at 1 p.m., at Evans Town Park. The Evans Democratic Club exists to assist the Democratic Committee to recruit, elect, and support good leaders to govern and guide this community. If you are a Democrat and interested in joining the Democratic Club for the Town of Evans, then come to the next meeting. The website is at www.evansdemocratic.org. The next meeting of the Evans Democratic Club is on Tuesday, July 17, 7:30 p.m. at the VFW Post 5798,8989 Erie Road in Angola . copyright©2006 Evans Democratic Club |
