"It's a privilege to have such an experienced person at the helm," described Town Supervisor candidate Fran Pordum. "I am honored that Neno LaRusso has agreed to chair my campaign for Town Supervisor." Anthony "Neno" LaRusso is a lifelong resident of Evans. Earlier this year he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Southtowns Democratic Club, recognizing his 50 years of service as a a Democratic Committeeman. As a young man, upon his return from service in Viet Nam he joined the Evans Democratic Club, and served as Town Committee Chair for 20 years. LaRusso and his wife Kathleen raised five children in Evans: sons Tony, Jr., Chris, David, and Dan, and daughter Lisa. They have two grandchildren, Blake and Braden. He is an usher at Most Precious Blood Church in Angola, where he served on the Parish Council. "I've known Fran for decades. He is by far the most qualified person to serve as Town Supervisor." noted LaRusso. "He did so much for Evans when he was in the New York State Assembly, especially for our waterfront and Sturgeon Point. Fran will bring his vast knowledge of local government to this job and will keep Evans moving forward." Pordum and LaRusso selected Michelle Parker to serve as Campaign Treasurer. Parker is an attorney in private practice at Anspach Meeks Ellenberger LLP. She is a Director of the Evans-Brant Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Erie County Bar Foundation's 2007 Campaign. She and her husband Mark live in the Highland area of Evans. copyright©2006 Evans Democratic Club |
