OCTOBER, 2008 MEETING Erie County Legislator Bob Reynolds led the Pledge of Allegiance at the October meeting of the Evans Democratic Club on October 22.  The Club recognized member Matt Rzepka for his efforts in organizing the Club's Tailgate Party at the American Legion Post No. 928 for the Bills-St. Louis game.  Reports of elected officials were presented by County Legislator Reynolds and Town Councilman Paul Cooper. Town Chair Bob Catalino discussed the history of town development going back to the 1950s and including during his terms as Supervisor.  He noted "There were naysayers against the development of the Evangola State Park, against creating Sturgeon Point Marina, against Flexovit building its plant.  You look back, and some of the naysayers today are the same people who are still against any progress in Evans.  Or else they have the same last names as past naysayers.  But you can't let the naysayers set the agenda, or else nothing in this Town will ever move forward."
