Evans Democratic Club president Jonica DiMartino
introduced Michael Schraft to the Club for a special
presentation.
Schraft, a native of
Angola,
was home on leave from his duties in
Iraq.
He presented two
American
flags to local veterans organizations.
Each of the flags were carried in missions in Iraq.
Schraft addressed the Democratic Club to acknowledge his
connection to both posts, through his father and
grandfather.

Pictured are Schraft (left) presenting a flag to Gene
Hackemer, Commander of the
American Legion Post #928 in Derby (center-left) and
a flag to Joe Catalano, Commander of the Evans
VFW Post 5798 in Angola (center-right.) Elected
officials who participated in the presentation are at

Erie County
Legislator, and Paul Cooper, Evans Town
Councilmember.

Local Evans Democrats are invited to meet
at the VFW to watch the election returns, starting at
8:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, November 4,
Election Day.
Club president Jonica DiMartino reminds everybody to honor
the sacrifices made by U.S. veterans, by exercising your
right to vote. |
