December 16, 2008 - Annual Elections

The Club held its annual election at the VFW Post at the final meeting of 2008.  Michelle Parker was elected president, Dawn Csati elected treasurer, and Patti Latimore and Gert Jerozal re-elected to their posts as vice-president and corresponding secretary.  Kathy Bartus was re-elected to her post as recording secretary, a duty she will share with co-recording secretary, Kathy Karyczak.

As to the Club's Board, Karen Erickson, Mark Parker and Russ Guarino were re-elected as Directors.

The elections will be made official at the January meeting on Tuesday, January 20, at 7:30 at the VFW on Route 5.  The officers and directors will be sworn in to their posts by Town Clerk Carol Meissner.

Reports of elected officials were presented by County Legislator Bob Reynolds, Town Supervisor Fran Pordum, Town Board member Paul Cooper and a report by Angola mayor Howard "Hub" Frawley.  Frawley discussed the year-long efforts which will culminate soon in the Town and Village's first bed-and-breakfast.  Frawley described work he's done with the NYS Conference of Mayors and Municipal Officials, where he serves on the statewide Executive Committee.

Mayor Frawley was congratulated on his recent election as president of the Association of Erie County Governments.  He will be sworn in to that post in January.  Following club business, meeting attendees enjoyed holiday fellowship.  Proceeds from the split club went to the VFW for their holiday food basket drive.
