9/16/09: An inquiry that Mr. Poloncarz started with the NYS Retirement System has resulted in almost $400,000 in savings after Poloncarz found what was significant overcharges by NYS for pension related costs.

His office originally identified an overcharge by the state of $327,615, which the state agreed was incorrect and then credited the account. Following further inquiries a $72,313 overcharge was identified, which the state has since admitted was a mistake, and the account has been credited for that amount.
