Happy Spring from the Evans Democratic Club.  Good news: Club vice-president Patty Lattimore announced that club members Bob Catalino, Sr. and Anthony "Nino" LaRusso will be honored at the Third Annual Spring Recognition Dinner held by the Southtowns Democratic Club.

Bob has chaired the Evans Democratic Committee since 1998.  Retired from Lakeshore Central Schools, Bob served 4 terms as Supervisor of the Town of Evans.  Nino is receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his 50 years of service as a Democratic Committeeman.  At age 18, 3 years before he could vote, Nino started a Young Democrats Club for the Town of Evans.  He served as Town Committee Chair for 20 years and has continued to contribute as a member of the Evans Democratic Club.

Eden Town Supervisor Glen Nellis will be honored as Democrat of the Year.  The Union Award will go to Don Loretto of the Communications Workers of America (CWA.)

The Recognition dinner will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Eden Memorial VFW Post #8265, 2551 March Road in Eden.  You can RSVP by mailing your check for $35 to STDC c/o PO Box 104, Eden, NY 14057, before May 12.  Open bar (beer/wine) is at 5:30 p.m.; dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. 

Save the date: the Town Club's annual picnic is on Sunday, August 5th at 1 p.m., at Evans Town Park.

The Evans Democratic Club exists to assist the Democratic Committee to recruit, elect, and support good leaders to govern and guide this community.  The money raised by the Club helps support candidates in this election year.  If you are a Democratic Party member interested in joining the Democratic Club for the Town of Evans , then come to the next meeting.  The website is at www.evansdemocratic.org.

The May meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW Post 5798, 8989 Erie Road in Angola.
