Hello all,
As you may know, John's former employer, USAID, has built a secondary school for girls in Kurmuk, Southern Sudan, in honor of John and his driver AR. It is the first secondary school for girls in the Blue Nile Region in Sudan, a location close to John's heart.
The Granville-Abbas School can accommodate 120 girls with a mission "to increase Sudan's capacity to provide quality primary and secondary education, especially for girls who have lower literacy and lower rates of school attendance than boys."
While the school receives support from the Governor of the Blue Nile state and from the US Government, it is simply not enough. The girls are in need of basic school supplies and much more.
Therefore, I am hoping that you will be generous enough to visit the Amazon Wish List below and kindly donate to The Granville-Abbas School.
Our family has received emails from AECOM International, commenting on how amazing John's impact on lives in the area continues to be. Please help us continue that impact and further John's remarkable vision to educate women, in an effort to eliminate poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
Please ship all donations to AECOM International Headquarters, at the address below. There are members scheduled to travel to Sudan in December, and will transport the supplies to the school at that time.
